Mildred Morrison
Co-Chair, World Service Council
Mildred Morrison’s teenage years as a member of the Greater Pittsburgh YWCA would not only anchor her initial career in retail banking but would inform the many leadership roles she has assumed within the local and national YWCA for the past half century+. She successfully pursued a career in management of personal banking for wealthy individuals, of a non-profit social service agency and of a local governmental social service unit meeting the needs of older adults. Simultaneously she was engaged in many community organizations (from civil and women’s rights to mental health to light opera). Having retired as Administrator of Allegheny County’s Human Service-Area Agency on Aging and as a short-term CEO of the national YWCA Retirement Fund, she is involved with supporting creative endeavors in the fields of aging, family services and international women’s development.
Welcome To Washington D.C.
National Conference isn’t about YWCA USA, it’s about our broad network of local YWCA associations that implement the work at the local level for women, families, and people of color every day. It’s a time for our Local Associations to share, as a community of learning, and to walk away inspired by each other and the work of the YWCA family. It is a time for the YWCA movement, united as One YWCA, to share and celebrate our history, our mission and impact, planning for the work ahead, and continuing to write our YWCA story.
